On a recent layover in Denver, Colorado, I found myself rushing to revisit two of my favorite foodie spots: Dochi Donuts in the RINO (River North) District and a breakfast burrito from Denver Central Market. I’ve always believed that layovers are the perfect opportunity to explore local gems, and this time, I was excited to reconnect with Dochi, a small business I’ve been a fan of since they first opened in Denver.

Rediscovering Dochi
Dochi Donuts stands out not only for their visually unique creations but also for their innovation in flavor and texture. Known for their signature mochi donuts, Dochi delivers a blend of cultural influences with every bite. Their Denver location, opened by a cousin of the original founders, has become a must-visit spot for anyone exploring the RINO District.

For this visit, I decided to try the Matcha Crunch Donut—a mochi donut topped with matcha frosting, a sprinkle of Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, and a drizzle of milk chocolate.

The Mochi Donut Experience

Dochi’s story is one of growth and passion, starting with success in their first two locations and expanding to Denver. Their innovative approach to donuts makes them a worthy contender for national expansion. I would love to see their unique creations in cities across the country.
