Yes, I’ve stayed in the "safe zone" for the most part, but I’ve also ventured into the historic center and Zone 1—areas often flagged as unsafe. I even had a fun moment with a local police officer in Zone 1 when I asked to use his Wi-Fi to order an Uber. Not only was he helpful, but he also lightheartedly teased his colleagues for not speaking English. It’s these small interactions that make travel so memorable.
