During my visit, I decided to try their signature dish, the Sloppy Dog. This beef hot dog is topped with American cheese, grilled onions, jalapeños, and a hearty serving of Mr. Shmokey's signature Sloppy Beef. The savory, deep flavors made me feel like I was enjoying a grown-up version of a childhood favorite, and the beef hot dog itself had a satisfying "pop" that paired perfectly with the toppings. I ended up giving it an 8.9/10, a fun and tasty alternative to what you'd typically find in Tulum—and definitely a standout in the fast-casual category.

While I was filming my review, something hilarious happened. A kid standing just off-camera began trying to sell me candy, seemingly unsure of what I was doing with the camera and my ongoing conversation. For several minutes, he stood there, slightly confused but persistent. It added an unexpected charm to my experience, reminding me that Tulum is full of character—and sometimes, a touch of humor.

While the Sloppy Dog certainly stole the show for me, I also had a chance to try their mac and cheese. While I thought it needed a bit more seasoning and perhaps some real cheese, it did serve as a nice side to complement the rich flavors of the Sloppy Dog. The addition of the coleslaw, with its tangy crunch, made it a great pairing, offering a refreshing contrast to the savory meats.
