My Bio:
Joseph Haecker isn’t your typical food critic. After losing his sense of taste and smell to COVID in April 2021, Joseph flipped the script on food reviews, honing in on what he calls “the sixth sense” of dining: texture. With only faint traces of salty, sweet, spicy, and the temperature of his meals left, he’s become the guru of mouthfeel. For Joseph, texture is the unsung hero of every dish — the crunch, the chew, the way it all feels on the palate. He’s on a mission to call out restaurants that nail the balance between sweet and savory but drop the ball on texture. In his eyes, it’s the key element most chefs ignore, and he’s here to give it the spotlight it deserves. If you want to know what’s more than just tasty — Joseph’s got your back.
